Extension goals

  • Type traditional Mongolian on ordinary web text fields.
  • Reuse the existing candidate engine and shortcut behavior.
  • Support FVS / NNBSP / MVS shortcut prefixes.
  • Keep noun protection and verb suffix behavior consistent with /write.
  • Start with Chrome / Edge before Android / iOS / desktop input methods.

Not released yet

  • No public Chrome Web Store release yet.
  • No Edge Add-ons release yet.
  • No system-level Android / iOS / Windows / macOS input method yet.
  • No separate server module is required for the first prototype.

v1.6-A documentation

  • Document browser extension direction.
  • Keep /write as the stable no-install keyboard.
  • Explain the difference between embed, extension, and future system input methods.

v1.6-B extension page

  • Add this public /keyboard/extension roadmap page.
  • Describe Chrome and Edge extension goals.
  • Avoid store publishing until the keyboard core remains stable through more tests.

v1.6-C prototype direction

  • Prepare a local-only Manifest V3 prototype plan.
  • Reuse the same smart candidate engine from libs/ui/src/mongol-keyboard.
  • Do not duplicate keyboard logic outside the shared library.

Next steps

  • Keep /write as the stable public keyboard.
  • Use /keyboard/embed for no-install integration.
  • Prepare a local-only Chrome / Edge Manifest V3 prototype.
  • Reuse the existing keyboard engine instead of duplicating logic.
  • Publish only after local prototype and candidate behavior checks pass.
  • Use /keyboard/extension/privacy for the browser extension privacy policy.
